Figure Out Which Little Beast Is Burying Your Brilliance

The Nomad

Always chasing the next pivot, hoping this will finally click. Restless, brilliant — and a little lost without a map.

The Weed

Quietly brilliant and tough as hell, but used to shrinking to stay safe. Rooted, resilient — and tired of hiding.

The Phoenix

Familiar with burning it all down and starting over. Fierce, driven — and exhausted from rising on repeat.

Every entrepreneur in The WILD has a critter.

I made them up for myself at first, because talking about the ways our brains trip us up — freezing, overthinking, rambling, tuning out —

felt heavy and a little shame-y. The critters made it lighter.

And since they worked so well, I wanted to share them with anyone else wrestling with the same patterns.

Each one is grounded in real neuroscience — representing a predictable nervous system response that shows up when visibility feels unsafe. Humor interrupts the shame spiral, cartoons calm the nervous system, and externalizing the problem makes it easier to work with.

The Nomad, the Weed, and the Phoenix aren’t just characters. They’re reflections of what so many of us are living through.

At first, they aren’t guides — they’re chaos in disguise, leaving you frozen, rambling, or bored out of your mind, but as soon as you learn to work with them, rather than against them, they become powerful forces that help you create magnetic content you love.

This quick and easy quiz is where you learn which critter’s been running the show —

and how to work with that energy instead of getting steamrolled by it.
